Virginia Denise Shipley

                Virginia Denise Shipley passed away peacefully in her home while in the loving presence of her family, on Wednesday, October 18, 2017; she was 70 years old.  She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on May 1, 1947 to Charles and Elizabeth (White) McNeilis.  She graduated from the Duff’s Business College of Pittsburgh.  Virginia was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother; she enjoyed going on cruises, traveling, spending time in Tennessee, gazing on the beauty of the Great Smokey Mountains, and spending time with her family.

                She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, John Shipley, her son, Dan McNeilis, son Steven (Michele) Shipley, and her son, David (Kelly) Shipley.  She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren including Alissa McNeilis, Elizabeth Kelley McNeilis, Jacob McNeilis, Jessica McNeilis, Bryer Shipley, Alexis Shipley, and Michael Reynolds as well as numerous brothers, sister, nieces, nephews, and friends.  She is preceded in death by her parents, and Leona and Frank Coulter, who took her in, gave her a home, and raised her as their own daughter; becoming the family’s Nanny and Pap Pap, she is also preceded by several brothers and sisters.

Friends and family are welcome to attend calling hours for Virginia at the Farus Funeral Home of New Concord on Friday, October, 20, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8PM.  A service will follow on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 12PM noon, with calling hours starting at 10AM and concluding at 12PM.  Father Paul Hrezo will officiate the services.  Burial will follow at a later date.
