Raymond Elton St. Clair passed away in the early morning hours of Monday, July 17th while in the care of Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Cambridge; he was 91 years old.  He was born on May 13th, 1926 in Spratt, Ohio to Harley and Florence (Dudley) St. Clair.  Raymond was known for his amazing story telling ability.  He was a proud WWII Army veteran, and was a member of the American Legion, and the VFW Post 1058.  He enjoyed playing cards, playing music, tap dancing, square dancing, Karaoke, and spending time with his family.  Raymond was a farmer, a mailman, he drove truck, as well as a bus for the East Muskingum School District.  He was the  former owner of the St. Clair Market in Cumberland.  He wrote articles for the Chandlersville Courier for many years.  Raymond belonged to numerous organizations including the Grange, the Zane Grey Old Car Club, the Freeland Valley Steam and Gas tractor Club, the Farm Bureau, he was a former president of the National Farmer’s Organization; and he attended numerous local county fairs, music events, parades, and competitions.  He was a member of the Buffalo Presbyterian Church and the Muskingum County Country Music Hall of Fame.

He is survived by his daughter, Jean Ann (Jim) Allen, and his son, Nicholas Ray (Amy) St. Clair. He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren, Brian (Jennifer) Allen, David (Tracy) Allen, Scott (Caroline) Allen, Tammy (Chuck Reasoner) Yates, Timothy St. Clair, and Theresa (Chad) Fluharty; 13 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.  He leaves to cherish his memory his brothers, Harry Robert St. Clair and David St. Clair. He is predeceased by his parents, his beloved wife, Rita, who passed away on November 9, 2016, his brother, Dale Lynn St. Clair, and his sisters, Juanita Emerson, and Louanna Reynolds. 

Friends and family are welcome to attend calling hours for Raymond at the Farus Funeral Home of Cumberland on Wednesday, July 19th from 4 to 8PM. Services will be held on Thursday the 20th, at 11AM, with a viewing beginning an hour prior at 10AM at the funeral home, with Pastor Jim Gibson officiating services.   Burial will follow at the Mt. Zion Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Buffalo Presbyterian Church, 302 W Main St, Cumberland, OH 43732.
