Madaline R. Pepper

June 13, 1924 ~ April 17, 2017 (age 92) 92 Years Old

 

Madaline Ruth Pepper, 92, passed away on Monday, April 17, 2017 at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, Pennsylvania.  She was a long-time resident of Fellowship Community in Whitehall, PA and previously, Willow Haven Care Center in Zanesville, where she was surrounded by extraordinary, compassionate caregivers.  Madaline was born in Zanesville, Ohio on June 13, 1924 to Earl T. and Elba Delta (Kelbaugh) Buffington.  Madaline was a loving mother, wife and daughter and she was an accomplished artist.  As a co-founder of the Southeastern Ohio Watercolor Society, a former board member of the Zanesville Arts Center, and an arts center, Muskingum College and private art teacher, she inspired students, friends and fellow artists with a love of nature that was ever-present in her art.  She loved teaching others and sharing in the joy derived from the creation of beauty.

 

Madaline is survived by her daughter, Pam Pepper and Pam’s husband William M. Kreider of Emmaus, Pennsylvania. 

 

Madaline is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Charles K. Pepper, Jr., and her son, Greg Pepper.

 

Friends and family may attend calling hours for Madaline at the Farus Funeral Home of New Concord on Friday, April 21, 2017 from 11 to 1 PM.  Services will begin at 1 pm with Pastor Keith Taylor officiating.  She will be laid to rest beside her husband and son in the New Concord Cemetery.
